Burr Elm Beds

Themed Burr Elm Beds

Elaborate anamorphic designs or subtle ties to personal passions can all be incorporated into beds for children, adults or boutique hotels.

Stitched Four Poster Bed
Stitches are used to ‘knit’ matched boards on both the footboard and canopy of the bed. Each bed post faces its own other half, giving a feeling of symmetry and closure to the asymmetrical.

Winged Burr Elm Bed
Two large wingspans soar across the frame of this incredible bed. Wings are crafted from single pieces of solid burr elm, giving each feather a distinctive pattern. The matched burr elm, half-poster style frame is solidly constructed to fit a comfortable king size mattress.

Needle and Thread Bed
Having used stitches in many previous pieces, Robin decided to take the idea to its natural end – creating stitches and a giant needle to tie this bed together. Each stitch is delicately crafted out of Elm then carefully fixed to the bed through a textured groove. The needle and loose thread were shaped and finished before they were pinned to the headboard.
